The AI opportunity workshop

Half a day with you and your team. You leave with the firm map — who does what, where the knowledge sits, what the AI should retrieve and draft for each person — and a ranked list of first projects, with the first one's payback estimated. Fixed price, confirmed in writing before you book.

Who it's for

Owner-led UK firms where the founder holds the knowledge

Typically 5 to 50 staff: family manufacturers, professional services firms, trades with an office function. The common pattern is that pricing, customer history and "how we do things" live in the owner's head and a few long-serving people — and that growth, cover and sale value all suffer for it.

You don't need to know anything about AI to get value from the workshop. You need to know your business, and to bring the people who do the work.

It's probably not for you if…

  • You want a general "AI strategy" presentation rather than a specific list of things to build in your firm.
  • Your knowledge is already well documented and searchable, and the bottleneck is elsewhere.
  • You're looking for a software product to buy off the shelf rather than a system built around your people.

If you're unsure, ask. If the workshop won't pay back for you, I'll say so before you book it.

What happens

The half day, step by step

  1. Where the day goes. We walk through how work actually moves through the firm — enquiry to quote, order to delivery, query to answer — and who touches it at each step.
  2. Where the knowledge sits. For each person: what they need to know to do their job, where it currently lives (files, mailboxes, systems, memory), and what they're asked for again and again.
  3. What the AI would retrieve and draft. Person by person, we define what a spine would need to hold to help them, and what it should draft for them to review.
  4. Ranking. We score the candidate builds by time saved, risk removed and value protected, and estimate the payback on the top one.
  5. The straight answer. Whether AI will pay back in your business — and if so, where to start.
What you get

Deliverables

  • The firm map: every role in the business, what it does today, what it must know, and what an AI spine would retrieve and draft for it.
  • The knowledge inventory: where your material lives — mailboxes, shared drives, quoting tools, job systems — and what would need indexing, with access scoped per person.
  • A ranked list of first builds, scored on return, with a payback estimate for the top candidate.
  • A written recommendation: proceed to the spine, or don't — and why.

What we need from you

  • The owner and the two or three people who hold the most knowledge, for half a day.
  • A rough picture of your systems: where quotes, files and email live. No access is needed for the workshop.
  • Honesty about where the bottlenecks are.

Out of scope

  • No software is built or installed in the workshop; nothing is connected to your systems.
  • No general AI training or tool demonstrations — the day is about your firm, not about AI.
What happens next

After the workshop

If the map shows a build that pays back, you'll get a fixed quote for the spine and the first build — quoted from the map, so you know exactly what you're buying. If it doesn't, you keep the firm map and the recommendation, and that's where it ends. Either way, you'll have a clear-eyed picture of where your business depends on memory.
